Rakcha Bandhan

Rakcha Bandhan is celebrated on the full moon day of Shravan (August) according to the Hindu calendar. Rakcha means ‘protection’ and bandhan means ‘to tie a knot.’ Rakcha Bandhan is also known as Rakhi. It has both, social and spiritual significance. As a social occasion it promotes good relations among family and friends, especially brothers and sisters. But in the spiritual sense a Spiritual Master ties a decorated thread (specially made for this occasion) around the wrist of the devotee which signifies his caring for his devotee. On this day thousands of devotees line up to receive a rakhi from Shree Maharajji.
