Jagadguru Divas

The 14th of January is a very significant day for the devotees of Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj, because on this particular day (in 1957) our beloved Shree Maharajji was proclaimed the supreme Jagadguru of this age. The word ‘guru’ means ‘the Spiritual Master,’ and ‘jagat’ means ‘the whole world.’ Hence, ‘Jagadguru’ means ‘the Spiritual Master of the entire world.’

Jagadguru Divas is celebrated at JKP Rangeeli Mahal, Barsana, India. Thousands of devotees travel from Delhi, Haryana, Agra and many other places to pay their loving respects to the supreme acharya of this age, Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. The Sadhana Bhavan of JKP Rangeeli Mahal is adorned with colorful decorations and fragrant fresh flowers in honor of Shree Maharajji. The dais where he sits to deliver his Divine discourse is especially decorated with elaborate flower arrangements.

Throughout the day and evening nam sankirtan and pad sankirtan are enthusiastically chanted and sung by the huge crowd. Shree Maharajji’s speech is the highlight of the celebration and the audience sits in rapt absorption for hours listening to the ever-new charm of his explanations of the Divine philosophy. He also graciously reveals charming new chants describing the beauty, virtues and kindness of Radha Krishn that thrill the hearts of the devotees with Divine love.
